Alexey Zimin was born on December 13, 1971 in the city of Dubna, Moscow Region. Education began with a physical and mathematical school and continued at the Moscow Energy Institute. But he soon decided to change physics to philology and transferred to Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.

The specialization in Russian folklore acquired at the philological faculty of Moscow State University was further expanded while working as the editor of the International Panorama television program. Zimin was engaged in the customs of the peoples of the world, as well as in the studies of settlements of Aryan tribes in the southern republics of the country.

In addition, back in his student years, Alex was fond of rock and was the lead singer of a rock band. The next stages of his journalistic biography was work in the magazines Voyage, Playboy and Vogue. However, Aleksey Zimin earned the greatest fame among readers, viewers and visitors to Internet sites as a culinary specialist.

Alexei Zimin made his first culinary experience at the age of five. Despite the fact that the fried eggs he cooked turned out to be completely black, he was fascinated by the process of converting products. Aleksey studied cooking using culinary books, collecting them in a library, which is already valued in a thousand volumes. However, Zimin also has a special education in such an authoritative institution as the London school of cooks Cordon Bleu, and internships at such cooking aces as Michel Gerard and Raymond Blanc.

For almost fifteen years Alexey has been transferring culinary knowledge in thematic columns of such reputable publications as Kommersant and Vedomosti. In addition, his culinary blog is leading on the Poster-Food website, and the culinary programs “Food” on Menu-TV and “Cooking with Alexei Zimin” on NTV are very popular among viewers and invited celebrities, attracting attention not only with original recipes, but also entertaining stories and fascinating commentary on recipes.

Of the four books published by Zimin, three are devoted to cooking. “Kitchen forever” talks about the best recipes of world cuisine, “Market Kitchen” about cooking seasonal dishes, and in fact is a culinary calendar, and “Supermarket Kitchen” offers original recipes from commonly available products. Cafe Ragout also enjoys fame among residents of the capital, in which Zimin is the curator of the kitchen and the teacher of the cook school.

Alexei is married to Tatyana Dolmatovskaya, a costume designer. Their acquaintance happened back in the publishing house Conde Nast, when Tatyana worked for Vogue magazine, and Alexey was the editor of GQ. At his insistence, Tatyana was trained at the courses of confectioners. Their family was included in the list of the most durable marital unions in Moscow. Alexey, Tatyana and their three children live in Peredelkino, where on weekends they cook their favorite dish - leek and potato soup according to an old and simple French recipe.

Biography of Zimin Alexei

A talented person is immediately visible, it is impossible not to notice him in the crowd and pass by, casting an indifferent and fleeting glance at him. A comprehensively gifted and active person is given out by his sincere eyes, glowing with extraordinary enthusiasm, as well as calm and goodwill, which are manifested in his every move and deed.

Such a direct, very bright and gifted person is Alexei Zimin - a rising star in the sky of modern fine art and portrait photography. He is talented and ambitious, as he is used to achieving his goals from a very young age.

The childhood of Alexei Zimin. Early work

Alexey fell in love with drawing from early childhood. Then, in the art classes, the novice artist carefully and painstakingly drew the first sketches and sketches that seemed like a real work of art to his slightly less gifted and purposeful classmates.

It was then that the youth laid the beginnings of his professional work, instilled the desire to bring any business to its logical conclusion, completely investing in it both from a moral and physical point of view.

The first exhibition with original paintings by Alexei Zimin was held when the artist was in the 10th grade of the gymnasium. His canvases were exhibited in the library named after Aksakov, which is located in Ulyanovsk. The exhibition made a real sensation among the Ulyanovsk people of all ages and life priorities. People came with great pleasure to look at memorable paintings painted in an interesting manner and with knowledge of the psychological and social characteristics of the target audience.

Pros and cons

We opened the Park Express cafe, the menu was developed for us by Alexei Zimin: there are pies, gazpacho, sandwiches. For Taganka, such an institution is a godsend.

It turns out that the youngest talented chef in Russia is Alexei Zimin (see No. 1 on the list of participants of Omnivore, “the main arena of young talented chefs in the world”), a person who is more than 40 years old (the permissible age of any decent world competition of young chefs - 25-30 years), who does not have any basic professional chef education, has never worked as a chef, or a sous-chef, or even a cook. And most importantly: what does the slogan about organic principles, nature, culture and local producers have to do with it? After all, Mr. Zimin declares radically opposite values, being the face of soup cubes from horns and hooves.

Dmitry Alekseev, restaurant critic

Like any adult, overgrown with a huge number of obligations, I am afraid of catastrophic changes, collapsing markets and so on. You yourself jumped out and went on, but this fragile universe that you have been building for so long is scary for it. But in business - like any person who is partly dependent on fashion, I’m afraid to stop feeling the trend. It is like that. nervous story. For a long time we lived in a world in which nothing changed, and now it is constantly changing. And in order to feel normal in the profession, you must constantly go somewhere. It would seem that make your perfect ravioli and you will be happy. But no. Fear of stopping drives ahead.

There are three of them, they are small - seven, five and three years. I treat them, in general, as a project, but a charity. That is, I started this not to give someone a glass of water. (Laughs.) Rather, this is the story of growing strawberries in a summer cottage - there can be no justification, no profitability for it. You just do it out of pure love, out of admiration for what is partly your work. I want them to not lock themselves in their inner cochlea, not to be evil in relation to the world around them, which, in general, is not worth kind words. Let him not cause them indifference, but a calm understanding of how everything works.

Three words about yourself

I think Erofeev accurately described one of my key features - I have not a soul, but a house of tolerance. I am a very tolerant person: friends of all degrees surrounded me and surround me. handshakes. I’m probably also consistent. The degree of my stubbornness allows me not to be stupidly stubborn, but to crush, finish things that seem important. However, I'm quite lazy. And this dialectical contradiction infuriates me.

Officially

Born December 13, 1971 in Dubna near Moscow. He graduated from the physics and mathematics school, entered the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. A year later, he transferred to the philological faculty of Moscow State University, where he specialized in Russian folklore. He worked on television as the editor of the program "International Panorama", was engaged in the customs of the peoples of the world. In 1996, he took over as editor-in-chief of the Restaurant Vedomosti magazine, and since then, although he has changed many jobs, he is inextricably linked with cuisine and food - both with texts about them and with the restaurant business.

Alexey Zimin is a certified cook. He graduated from the London school of cooks Cordon Bleu, trained with renowned chefs. On the NTV channel he has his own culinary show "Cooking with Alexei Zimin." In addition, he is involved in the festival "Feast of Food", conducts master classes and writes books on gastronomic subjects: "Market Kitchen", "Supermarket Kitchen", "Kitchen Forever".

Childhood memories

The future chef was born in 1971 in Dubna, near Moscow, where researchers lived. His parents were busy people: his father was engaged in various special projects that were important for the country, and his mother worked on drawings. His father conducted tests all the time and often went on business trips, his mother was also busy with work, so his paternal grandmother was engaged in his upbringing. She was a distinguished teacher and worked as the head teacher of the school. When Alex was 12 years old, their family was replenished with another member - his younger brother.

His parents were calm about cooking, and in those days they never advised their son to choose this not-so-respected profession. The young man himself sometimes liked to visit a restaurant where his friend’s brother worked as a bartender. After leaving school, a graduate of the physics and mathematics school, like many of his classmates, went to study physics at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, but a year later dropped out and went to the Faculty of Philology. It was during the student years that Zimin took the first steps in his future profession. Then he lived in a hostel, so he had to cook himself. At that difficult time, the young man did not have a huge selection of products, moreover, in his provision was only an electric stove.

Culinary talent development

After studying at the university for four years, Alex left the university, as he realized that he would not become a philologist. Soon, a friend invited him to try himself as the chief editor of a restaurant magazine. Despite the fact that the young man had little knowledge of restaurant life, he still took a chance and agreed to this adventure. For several years he was engaged in this work, being every day in five institutions, and then became a columnist of Vedomosti.

Zimin was also interested in the history of Aryan peoples, studied Russian folklore and the customs of different peoples. He did not sit in one place and in a few years managed to change a number of professions, having worked:

  • in the men's magazine GQ,
  • on Playboy and Vogue,
  • in a travel magazine
  • in the project "Poster-Food".

When the future TV presenter understood his vocation, he was educated at the famous Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris, trained with famous chefs, then opened several restaurants and wrote several books (Market Kitchen, Supermarket Kitchen, Forever Kitchen). He attaches great importance to food, considering it a way of self-knowledge and an integral part of family holidays and feasts.

Now every Saturday morning he appears on the NTV channel in the program "Cooking with Alexei Zimin" to educate viewers in the art of cooking. His collaboration with television began several years ago when chefs were asked to organize cooking classes in a well-known chain of stores. It was there that he was spotted from one Petersburg channel and was immediately offered to star in the morning air. After some time, the beginning host worked on Channel Five, and then appeared on Domashny. In 2011, he was invited to the NTV channel, where his culinary program pleases viewers so far. Aleksey selects the recipes for his project, but sometimes he listens to the opinion of the editorial office and takes into account the wishes of viewers, especially before holidays like New Year and March 8th.

Harmony in the family

Zimin is happy not only in the profession, but also in his personal life. He has a lot in common with his wife Tatyana Dolmatovskaya: this is care and responsibility for the family, as well as love and passion, despite the years spent together. The acquaintance of the future spouses took place at a time when he worked in the GQ magazine, and Tanya collaborated with Vogue. This production novel could have ended with the separation of lovers, because, according to Alexei, at that time he did not part with a bottle of whiskey and, in addition to editing GQ, worked in the Leningrad group. Quite quickly, he realized that the girl had become a close and dear person for him, so he could not even imagine further life without her.

In a marriage with a beloved woman, three children were born: two daughters and a son. The eldest 12-year-old daughter develops writing skills (she already has several books on her account), she also works in a theater group. The 8-year-old son is passionate about sports and loves to play football. But the youngest daughter has not yet chosen a hobby for everyone.

Children love when Zimin prepares some pastries, they help dad with interest and offer something new every time. True, they don’t bake huge multi-tiered cakes, because it takes a lot of patience, and it will take a lot of time. At home, he rarely cooks, but frying barbecue in the country is always his work. Friends and acquaintances of the TV presenter often invite him to nature, knowing that he will certainly take upon himself all the chores associated with cooking for a big company.

As free time appears, he watches films or reads books. The host was on a hunt and even fished, but most of all he likes to walk through the forest and pick mushrooms. He himself considers this occupation to be a very interesting affair. In his opinion, with mushrooms, as with any representatives of the animal and plant world, you need to be able to find contact, then they will open to you.

Alexey Zimin: biography

Alexey Zimin is a young talented artist who successfully combines the creation of paintings with photographic art. All his works are filled with deep meaning and an unsurpassed play of colors ... Largely thanks to his talent, he became famous not only among his "colleagues in the shop", but also among the general public.

Alex was born in a fairly rational and practical family: his parents were lawyers. But the father of the future artist was once fond of photography, and mother in her youth attended art school. This is what prompted parents to develop creative abilities in the kid, although later they decided to develop him comprehensively.

Alexey Zimin

Alexey himself recalls that in childhood he was an ordinary boy: he skipped school, played soccer, teased girls. He had a craving for riddles and adventures, so history became his favorite subject at school. Meanwhile, young Alexei could spend hours examining the world around him, marveling at the magnificence of his colors. He remarkably remarkably noticed the tones of nature: golden scarlet at sunset or an unimaginable amount of shades of green in the crown of trees.

Answering a question about memorable moments from childhood, Alexey recalls his trips to the summer camp, and especially - orienteering. During the competition, the team of Alexei Zimin made a mistake by going down the slope to the stream, and for a long time got out of there. But this is exactly what taught the ordinary little boy helping people: team spirit helped the guys get out, and even win.

Alexey Zimin

Perhaps it is worth noting separately Alexey's passion for swimming. Like all boys, he quickly switched from one hobby to another, but from the age of ten he began to conquer the expanses of water. By the way, he achieved considerable success, participating in city competitions.

From the 6th to the 11th grade he was engaged in model sports: he himself designed the sailing ship “St.Helena ”and a model aircraft type“ CESSNA ”, with which he later participated in regional competitions. The life of the young artist was full and eventful: he found himself in new hobbies and reached certain heights, but he never changed his creative nature.

Creation

From early childhood, Alexei could be interested in what his peers would have passed without hesitation. Studying the colors of nature, he thought about art. As he recalls, in his life there was no art school. Alex himself studied drawing, studying the easy techniques of painting from books, in a sense, re-creating art.

Alexey Zimin

The artist's early works immediately found approval among critics. Although they pointed out the minor flaws of the young master, they noted a good sense of color and the ability to clearly convey on canvas not only details, but also the image that became the basis of the work.

The first exhibition of Alexei Zimin took place in the 10th grade, when he studied at 33 gymnasiums of the city of Ulyanovsk. The exhibition "Spring Paints", organized by the artist on his own, was held in the library named after Aksakov in 2013. Later, he created several more works and also organized their presentation to the general public.

Alexey Zimin

Despite the craving for creativity, Alexey chose a rather distant profession from him, enrolling in the Moscow Russian State Social University for the specialty “Information Technologies”, and later decided to follow in the footsteps of his parents and began distance learning in the specialty of a lawyer.

All this time he did not leave his perfection in the creative sphere. He studied art gradually, putting a soul and an intimate meaning into each picture. Alexey tried himself in various directions and finally settled on one completely new sphere.

Alexey Zimin today

Now Alexey Zimin constantly holds exhibitions with a frequency of about 1 time in 3 months, which are visited by critics and people who want to enjoy creativity. Among his ever-growing track record is his participation in the Health of the Nation exhibition. Especially worth noting is the creative competition “Russia on Canvas” organized by Alexei.

Alexei Zimin and his painting "Rocket"

The exhibition dedicated to Cosmonautics Day became a kind of crown of the artist’s creativity. He showed the general public his work, one way or another connected with space and transmitting the breathtaking immensity of the universes.

Recently, Alexey tried himself in abstraction, and the painting “Triangle, Circle and Square” becomes a reflection of the artist’s vision of this style. The work "Vladimir Putin after a vacation in Crimea" (also one of the last works of the author) has earned the attention of art lovers.

Own direction in painting

Alexei Zimin is constantly looking for himself, putting his soul into new areas of art. Today he does not set aside art photography and works in a completely new art natura style. This genre is the author's direction of Alexey himself.

In it, the artist uses only natural materials for drawing. Paints on the canvas are applied using branches, leaves, moss and other objects donated to the author by the outside world. Natural materials allow you to create real "live" pictures, as if transmitting smells, light breaths of the breeze, sounds of nature. This technique gives the artist the opportunity to show the living world, the true beauty of colors.

Alexei Zimin continues to delight the audience with new works and simultaneously develop in other directions. His artistic skills grow stronger every month. More and more people come to the exhibitions, the pictures become better, more imaginative, brighter. Today we see the formation of the artist in all its splendor.

Best Job - Highly Paid Hobbies

In addition to journalism, history and cultural studies, Alexei Zimin had a special hobby - cooking. From an early age he was fascinated by the cooking process, and he began to collect recipe books. Soon this was not enough, and the journalist decided to get an education in the field of cooking. His teachers were the French aces of the famous French culinary school Le Cordon Bleu, located in London.

Combining the two formations, Alexei Zimin continued to delight his readers with new, always relevant topics - recipes. He shared his culinary secrets in the subsequent published books Market Kitchen, Supermarket Kitchen, and Forever Kitchen, as well as in the author's columns of such well-known publications as Kommersant, Vedomosti and on his personal blog-poster Afisha -eda ", which is very popular to this day.

In 2009, Alexei became the host on the Domashny television channel in the television program Cooking with Alexei Zimin, which in autumn 2011 moved to NTV.

In 2010, the Ragout cafe was opened in Moscow with Alexei as a co-owner.

"Cooking with Alexei Zimin"

Aleksey’s recipes are easy and understandable, as well as simplicity in the selection of ingredients. They are generally publicly available. But at the same time, the combination of ingredients delights even the most picky culinary critics. That is why the program "Cooking with Alexei Zimin" is so popular today.

The program appears on the NTV channel every Saturday at 8:40 Moscow time. By the name of the issue you can always understand what will be discussed: "Fish Day", "Russian Lunch", "Easter Lunch", etc. The host offers 2-3 dishes, sharing not only the secrets of cooking, but also the intricacies of the choice of ingredients, as well as heading on gastronomic travel. Alexey Zimin has a wonderful erudition, a well-delivered speech, wonderful humor and charisma, which, of course, does not leave indifferent female representatives.
